CYNTHIA CHIKA FRANKLIN
ABOUT ME & CONTACT

Graduated from Kingston University with a degree in Journalism, I worked in marketing and content full time for 5 years. Drawn to the world of arts and entertainment I made the decision to go freelance to pursue projects in TV, film, theatre & events.
After volunteering as door girl for The Cocoa Butter Club back in 2017, an emergency during one show meant our assigned stage manager had to leave during the interval, and I jumped in last minute to finish the show.
Ever since my love for stage management has seen me work for the likes of The Young Vic, Festival.org, The Cocoa Butter Club, Ham It Up Productions, Queer House Party, The Black Burlesque Revue and more.
In the world of film I have always been a passionate film nerd but never understood or considered myself working in that world. This changed when I was hired to jump onto a small BFI funded short film as a runner in 2018.
Since then through various running positions I learnt that art department is what I adore, with my journey taking me from Art Department runner to Assistant Set Dec working on commercials, films and TV series with the likes of Netflix, BFI, Channel 4 and more.
I particularly love working with projects that elevate and support marginalised voices, especially the LGBT and Black communities that I am a part of. I also have experience working in ventures involving wellness, travel, music, food, history and of course the arts and entertainment.
